The Alice & Charles Taylor Scholar-Athlete LEAD Scholarship — Guidelines

Welcome! We’re honored you’re applying. Please read these brief guidelines before you begin:

  • Check eligibility first. Confirm your district/school is active this cycle using the LEAD eligibility checker on our website.
  • Know what LEAD means. We evaluate Leadership, Educational excellence, Athletic achievement, and Distinguished community service—share specific examples that demonstrate each pillar.
  • Be authentic. Use your own voice. We value honesty, growth, resilience, and impact more than perfection.
  • Mind deadlines. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM (MT) on April 10. Late or incomplete submissions cannot be considered.
  • Have your materials ready. You’ll need: (1) the online application, (2) a short video interview, and (3) two recommendations—at least one coach and one teacher. Ask recommenders early.
  • File tips. Use clear filenames (e.g., LastName_FirstName_Transcript.pdf). Accepted formats are listed in each upload field.
  • Video interview. Speak clearly, be yourself, and answer the prompts directly. A quiet space and good lighting help.
  • Accessibility & language. If you need accommodations or language support, let us know in the “Notes to the Foundation” field or contact us; we’re happy to help.
  • Questions & help. Counselors and coaches are great resources. You can also attend an Information Session (dates on our site) or email us at hello@taylorleadscholarship.com.
  • Integrity. Submit your own work. Misrepresentation may disqualify an application.
  • Privacy. Your information is used solely for scholarship review and administration per our Foundation policies.

Thank you for your interest in the LEAD Scholarship—and for the ways you learn, compete, and serve in your community. We’re cheering you on.
